Meet Dr. Jeremy Orr
DVM, DVSc, Diplomate ACVIM
Jeremy graduated with his DVM degree from Atlantic Veterinary College in 2004. He has worked in general and emergency practices, completed a three-year cardiology residency at Ontario Veterinary College, and became board-certified in veterinary cardiology in 2010.
Dr. Orr worked at two different multispecialty referral hospitals in the USA between 2010 and 2019, before returning to Atlantic Canada to establish East Coast Veterinary Cardiology, a mobile cardiology service for Nova Scotia. Jeremy is excited to be a part of our Coastal Care team to bring care to the pets that need it throughout Nova Scotia.
Jeremy has a 12-year-old rescue mixed-breed dog named Yaya. He adopted Yaya while living in Denver - she had come into his hospital for a cardiac evaluation from the shelter due to a heart murmur. They recognized how special she was from the start and adopted her right away! She unfortunately experienced a ruptured disc in her spine and needed emergency back surgery in 2018 after becoming acutely paralyzed. Thanks to a wonderful neurologist, she regained full motor control in her back limbs and has been happy ever since! Jeremy was very glad to have access to specialists to help her in Denver, and is excited that we have more veterinary specialists in Halifax to help more pets in need!
